About Dell Computer

About Dell Computer

My first computers was a deskop Dell in 2007. In that time, my father was working in China, and he brought it to me as a gift. Since then in my house has existed Dell computer. My father has told me for years that brand Dell is reliable, economic, and maybe the best computer in the world. For this reason, Dell computer will be the subject of my analisys.

In 1984, Michael Dell founded Dell computer Company with a simple vision and the business concept that personal computers could be built to order and sold directly to customers. Michael Dell believed his approach to PC manufacturing had several advantages. The distributors and retail dealers eliminated the markups of resellers, and building to order greatly reduced costs and risks associated with carrying large stocks of parts, components, and finish goods. In 1984, the sales in this company were running about $ 80000.00 per month. However, by the end of the year 1986, the sales had reached $ 33 million, and it shows the acceptation and quality in these computers.

In early 1998, the company had a 12 percent share of the PC market in the United States, trailing only Compaq Computers and IBM, which held first and second place in the market, respectively. Worldwide, Dell Computer had nearly a 6 percent market share. The company was gaining market share quickly in all of the world's markets. The company's fastest growing market for the past several quaters was Europe and Asia.

Dell's principal products include deskop PCs, notebook computers, workstation, and servers. The company also marketed a number of products made by other manufacturers, including CD-ROM drives, modems, monitors, networking hardware, memory cards, storage devices, speakers, and printers. The company's productos and services are selling in more than 140 countries. Sales of deskop PCs accounted for about 65 percent of Dell's total revenues; sales notebook computers , servers, and workstations accounted for about 33 percent of revenue.

Due to the large number of competitors in the market Dell will have a difficult time differentiating their products from the other close competitors. This is one of the most urgent problems. Dell will need to continually advertise the Dell products to continue to compete, In addition, Dell will need to provide superior custumer service and products to all customers to outsell the competition.

The intagible assets of Dell prove to be the source of competitive advantage for Dell. Physicals assets are easily replicated and possessed by other competing companies. Things like owner loyalty, brand equity, and customer satisfaction will be positive advertising for Dell. Without these things Dell can not hope to survive. These three things together create a major competitive advantage for Dell.

This brand recognition provides owner loyalty that other companies will not able to duplicate. You can buy this brand the computer in many stores, or you can make your own computer in the web like my fater did. Also, you can choose the features that you want or need in your computer. You can adjust to your budge and find the price that you want with the best quality in the computer market.
